Protective Vegetal Jelly

1. On rough or dry areas, apply a thick layer two to three times a day.
2. For a barrier against dryness, apply a thick layer whenever the skin asks for it.
3. For dry hair, apply to lengths and scalp, leave ten minutes, then wash.
4. For nails, massage into the cuticle, then wash your hands before applying polish.
5. Use it over your usual cream, not instead of it.

Can I use it on my face?

Yes, on dry patches rather than all over. Around the nostrils in winter, on flaking near the mouth, on a wind-burned cheek. Apply it over your cream as the last step at night. On oily or blemish-prone areas, leave it off and let the cream do the work.

Is it the same as petroleum jelly?

No. The occlusive job is similar, but the ingredients are plant and bee derived: black tea extract, castor seed oil, beeswax, jojoba oil and carnauba wax. It also carries antioxidants from the tea extract and vitamin E, which a mineral jelly does not.

Does it protect from the sun?

No. It is a barrier against water loss, not against UV. It does not replace your sun protection and it carries no SPF. If you are using it on the face through winter, apply your sunscreen in the morning and keep the jelly for evenings.

How is it different from the Aqua Rescue Cream?

The cream is your daily moisturizing step for sensitive, dehydrated skin, applied over the whole face. The jelly is a local treatment for rough patches, applied thickly, over the cream. One hydrates the skin, the other keeps that hydration from escaping.
